TGIF

Following along with my Nashville Recap, Friday was a B-L-A-S-T. Daddy, Boo & David arrived and it was party time from there. Reese had worn us out at the pool on Thursday...

So, we were glad when reinforcement arrived on Friday. She is the center of my family's universe and she loves it. All of us partied poolside with the princess. Papa got some good swimming time with Reesie Piecie.

After splashing around, everyone headed to the Sounds stadium. Everyone that is, except Jenn. Don't judge me, I had other plans. Notice I didn't say "better plans," just other (I enjoy a good AAA game). Tagg's wife, Laura got us tickets for the Fanfest concert. It was unreal!! We had so much fun! Laura is a Cali girl with a country heart. It is so funny to me how much country much this girl knows! She even got some cowgirl boots (yellow ones that were adorable). T-shirt dresses and cute shoes led us to the concert at LP field. My overview of the night's events:
(not that you asked for it, but I'll give it)
Miranda Lambert - awesome. The kerosene song makes me plug my ears (like the Sugarland lead singer makes me cover my eyes, I'll go into my opinions on a different post) but her other songs rock. She was great. I love Famous in a Small town, so naturally had to rock out to that one.
Lady Antebellum- They are great. If you didn't know them before, you do now. Laura just knew one song, heard the rest and fell in love. The lead singer is Josh Kelley's brother (Katherine Heigl's hubby, so sad, but I think everyone knows him more for that) So, Laura was out to get their cd the very next day. By the way, if the guy and girl don't date currently, they should. They had amazing chemistry.
Carrie Underwood- Okay, this is the one everyone 's waiting for. I'd like to tell you she looked overweight, underdressed and a little snobby on stage, but the girl's got it going' on. She was amazing. Her voice is better than on the radio, her outfit made you feel ugly in your own, and her little figure was disgustingly perfect. I don't know what Tony Romo was thinking. Jessica Simpson is a wreck next to this girl.

Josh Turner-Not that it isn't enough that he sings gospel, but he is unbelievable. Enchanting. He needs to sing on the steps of all churches and there would be people falling for Jesus by the second. He was a great performer. Laura was ready to buy his cd too.
Jake Owens- son of Alabama's Randy Owens. Sang two songs, one about the love of his mom and dad. Need I say more? Dallas better be glad he wasn't there...I would have made him slow dance.
Faith Hill-Hmmmm. Don't know how to say this politely. She was supposed to be the "closer" of the evening. Laura loves her more than I love Chick-fil-A and was dying to see her all week. Let's just say it wasn't her best performance. We found ourselves texting, that's how connected she was to the audience. Mediocre at best. It was hard to get past the Little House on the Prairie braid in her hair. Or the scarf in 97 degree heat. If Faith is smart, she'll redo her performance for Laura at Laura's home later this year. Her #1 fan needs a better impression.
Keith Urban- Thank goodness her was the surprise guest. Not to mention, the finale. He was the best ever. He had the entire place in a trance. On their feet. Clapping. Laughing. He is an entertainer. I hope their baby takes after him on the personality side, no offense Nicole. He made the show. I would gladly pay to see him again. We'll have to bring Tagg and Dallas, of course.

After the show, the guys, Boo & D all met us at The Stage downtown. We sang some country classics and called it a night. A very, very, fun night.
