What a great day today! It was storybook perfect. Not too hot, just a few clouds. Enough to make the day just right. Just right for my babygirl to celebrate her first year of life. We spent the day with Meme running around getting her birthday party gear organized. We also took her to Toys R us and she got several bday gifts, just a little something until her actual party. Our day of fun was topped off with the Braddy's swinging by with presents and lots of laughter. We love to soak up those Braddys any chance we get.
As I focus now on being the mother of a 1 year old (so weird) I'll take just a second to mark the milestone's of the center of my world. She melts my heart literally every second of everyday.
- You can officially say your name! This is the coolest. When you ask her "What is your name?" She quickly replies with a (very high pitched) EESE! I'm trying to contact Reese Witherspoon at the moment to inform her that her name is, in fact, pronounced "eese" not "reese."
- When asked how old you are you point "1" with your finger.
- This one is a favorite and I've got to capture it with my camera (I know total shocker that I haven't, right?) If you ask her any question who, what, when, where, why? She puts her hands up in the air, elbows in, palms up and shrugs her shoulders like "I don't know?" It is so stinkin cute. We find ourselves asking the dumbest questions just to see her do this.
- You walked today (yes, on your actual birthday) several steps. This has been the funniest. She can walk and has been able to since what seems like forever. Flat feet and all. She just chooses to hold on to things, people, dogs. But we let go of her tonight and off she goes. I guess it's her world, people.
- You do the cutest snake noise if we ask what the snake says (adorable face included) it's a perfect snake impression, scrunched up face and ssssssssssss.
- You wave and smile to anyone you see. You blow kisses, although you like to hold your hand on your mouth keeping all your kisses to yourself.
- In the mornings when you wake up, you rub your buddha belly (I think it's for good luck). It is the funniest thing in the world to me. I like a girl who can accept her physique. Confidence is what it's all about girl!
- After a nap or in the morning you stand in your crib and practically break your neck looking out your door seeing who's coming to get you. And your face lights up when you see me or Meme.
- You hold a phone to your ear (even sans hands, I guess I need to get her a bluetooth) and you grab a tv remote and point it to the television (yikes this is probably bad, next she'll be reciting Kardashian's reruns, I may need to regulate my shows)
- Books. Girl, you love books. You have forever, but at 9 months you started turning them upright if they were upside down. That cracked us all up. And I love to look in my rear view mirror and see you reading (I use this term lightly) your books as we drive.
- Blueberries and Bananas=favorites. Not to mention the carb-friendly ever so popular puffs. Never say no to puffs.
- You love Rookie, or ruff, ruff as you refer to him. He loves your constant supply of puffs.
I love you to the moon and back.
Thank you to everyone for the calls, text, presents. Reese is so blessed to have you all. We miss the family and friends we can't see everyday so much. You are all in our hearts.
I'll get some pictures posted soon. This weekend and today were slam packed.
Happy 1st birthday baby girl!!
