Catch up

Mom and I had the two year old's in nursery this morning at church. O.M.G. Really. Let's just say there is a reason I was a broadcasting major in college and not an education major. It's weird too b/c I feel like I am good with kids (hence the whole child photographer gig I've got going). But 8 of them when 1 of the 8 is mine? (Here lies the problem...)
Dallas and I went to leave Reese in nursery with her Gigi (it was Gigi's week...jackpot!!) and we quickly realized (as the class grow-ith within seconds) that Gigi was running this ship solo. Yikes!
Dallas peaced out in the middle of "I need to go potty!!," "Me too!," "I need to go too!!" Uhm, we're gonna need to find your parents...
It took a team of Donna, Gigi and me to get EVERY kid in the class through the potty stop at once. I stood at one station (aka stall), Donna manned another and Gigi did hand washing/monitor any escapees.
Halfway through class (picture Gigi reading a book, one kid insisting on sitting practically ON Gigi blocking the other kids view (which, in return makes the others a little pissy), a little boy throwing/rocketing toys across the room/one kid taking their shoes off to put on another kid's shoes) Are you with us?
Then, one girl has to potty. (It was Reese, thank you oh child of mine) Guess what happens next? Yep, the whole gang needs to go...again!! It was on our second trip down the hallway with 8 kids that we realized there was a bathroom IN the classroom. Nice.
Then, Reese decides she wants "Donna." We snuck up into the balcony to summon/sucker in Aunt Donna. She took the bait (the bait is really, really cute...)
So, then it was 8 kiddos and 3 adults. Whew. It was hilarious.
What else? We've just been busy. Not that we weren't always this crazy but between my Fall schedule and trying to get in good family time, etc. blogging falls by the wayside. I think I get camera burnout (did I say that out loud??) too so I end not to pick it up when I have lots of shoots.
We spent most of our week (as if this is different than any other week) with Gigi since she had the week off and Reese was out of school this week. We've been working on her big girl room. Mom and I spent all day Saturday together and Dallas and Reese had a daddy/daughter day. Today, we cooked out with my mom and dad so Reese was loving that! Papa came down to spend time with Reese and hang stuff for me (thank you Daddy!!)
Saturday morning, those little feet came in to wake Dallas and I up. We followed her into her room where she cranked up her cd player to dance with us. (Dallas dances with babies in hand) and then she just walked out. Hhhmmm.. She walks back in with a rug from my photography closet and says "Let's go dancing on this guys, outside with my car." (She says full sentences now and uses the "ing" words too...it's hilarious...)
So, like all groupies do, we followed.

If you're wondering, PINK is playing on the radio. She was jammin out.

  2. I love it! If it had been a cartoon, a lightbulb would have appeared over her head. What a great idea! Why didn't you think of it first? Rug, outside, dancing, car? Genius :) Right now, face towels are the rubber on the mound at our house and can also be home plate if one wants to slide. So fun!

  3. Yeah I'm a sucker! I never turn down Reese or Gigi. You forgot to mention that Dallas was booty dancing in church. It's amazing what happens in the balcony on any given Sunday....
