Good to be home

It's always good to be home.
No more hotels.
No more luggage.
My own bed.
Reese's own bed.
Her toys are like brand new.
My baby...
Rookie. We picked him up this afternoon.

The downside?
We left Daddy behind. We tried smushing him in our suitcase, but he's 6'4 and they charge so much now for extra weight. We're just going to have to settle for seeing him in seven days! Yes, he is home for good in a week. I actually get to see him on Thursday (headed to NYC) but Reesie only has a week til she is Daddy's girl again.
This was the best trip. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Reese got time with Daddy, Meme, Mommy, cousin Lauren and both her granddaddy's. My Dad flew in Friday and then drove Dallas' truck back to Atlanta today. Mitchell flew in Saturday and got to see two games. We also got to hang with the Murphy's and see The Turner's which was awesome since we haven't seen them in forever. I'll get to my picture editing over the course of the week so the posts should be interesting to say the least.
Reese flew great, seriously, great on both flights to Ft. Lauderdale! A much better experience than her colic days and our flight from Phoenix to Atlanta a year ago. Including the people sent from the devil himself that sat in front of us....Am I still bitter? You might say....
I'll dive into our days with each post to come. For now, here's our little chick scootin around the airport making people laugh. Don't hate, this was taken with my point & shoot.

Quick note. I always post about ideas, where I found a certain outfit, etc, I figure that it saves you from having to email and ask me questions (not that I mind, I love hearing from everyone) but I'd like to get tips from other mama's too. So, not a great shot being that I was a mom snapping a quick pic, not a photog, but this wheelie thing Reese is sporting slapped under her car seat is awesome! I never post an idea and claim to be something I discovered if I didn't so let me give credit where it's due...another Marlins wife had her toddler in one of these in St. Louis and it seemed to work great so we gave it a try. It's a gogo babyz travelmate. You can find them at babiesrus. I hesitated because Reese already has three strollers (yes, I judge myself) but I did not want to ruin one traveling (airlines are not respectful of peg perego) and we needed the car seat once we got to Florida. Long story short, it was great. Reese just laid back and enjoyed the ride. If you travel a lot, it's a great idea. See new teams bring new friends and new mama ideas!

  1. I need to invest in one of those! Reese looks likes she enjoyed the ride! Girl, we had 6 strollers at one point. Wait until you have another and enter into the double stroller world.
