AAA Draft Party

On Wednesday night Daddy had his annual Fantasy Football Draft. To fully understand this concept, you must be told the entire Draft day story. Every year, on the last road trip after a day game, they hold their annual Draft. Usually the hotel they are staying in allows them a room and they bring in their own food, drinks, etc. Easy enough right? Yeah, not so much. The holiday inn manager was capital R-U-D-E, rude. I even brought Reese in as bait. Nothing worked. She wanted $200 bucks and wanted to have it catered? Uhm, catered. Look lady, this is a minor league baseball fantasy draft. It's not real. Well, maybe to the 20 guys attending, but not to normal people. She did not get it. I even dropped a Pay it Forward on her. Didn't work. So off we went. Reese & I had less than 12 hours to get a mac daddy conference room, close by and without a catering fee. It was not without some serious sweat and tears but we found it. The hotel, staff, everyone was unreal. The conference room was legit too. Next, we headed to get a cookie cake and tons of brownies and sweets for the guys. Check. Completed. Last? We need the shuttle (that takes you everywhere from the Holiday Inn) to take the guys at 6:45 to the hotel and then pick them up at night. Easy? Sure. The hotel is 4 miles away. Not so much. Turns out they can only travel within a 3 mile radius. I even called the manager (a different one since I knew I had burned our relationship with the pay it forward threat) He said that unfortunately he could not bend the rules. Wait! You take the guys to the field which is much more than 3 miles away? Gotcha. He had no legitimate response. I'll admit I took out my days frustrations out on him. Let's just say we won't be choosing to book our stay there next time. It all worked out, though, and all the guys arrived on time via taxi. They had a blast and so did Reese! We stayed for a while til it got a little too serious for us. I wanted to drop a "you have got to be kidding me" several times. Especially when my hubby (the commish) was delegating. Nonetheless, we got some cute pics. Enjoy!
Yes, this was seriously on the door...

Daddy's little sidekick...

running around the conference room (literally) getting the crowd fired up!

Reese brought a cookie cake...(like all true southern ladies) for the guys to enjoy...

"What? It's cool mom. The boys like me here."

Adjusting the room temp. Reese likes to make sure everyone is comfortable.

The very serious draft board...

Convincing my daddy to not take Tom Brady (mommy says he's a trader since he left Bridget Moynahan aka the beautiful mother of his child...don't get my mommy started...)

Taking Tagg some important paperwork...

Sitting with my Daddy...

And the clincher...right before we left Gall showed up in his Olympic uni sporting his bronze medal from the Olympics. So funny!

I guess it's true that boys never really do grow up. Or is this like our blogging addiction? Hmmm...guess I'll keep quiet.

  1. Girl...you are a GOOD wife! Way to take one for the team. Does Dallas realize how very cool you are? I think you proved you are entitled to your blogging addiction after your draft day fanagling!
