happy mama.

Ah, Mother's Day. Mine was the absolute best.
Dallas let me sleep in until 10am, he was up with the princess. When I walked out Reese yelled "Mudder's Day Mommy!!" You could tell she was so proud that she did exactly what Daddy had coached her to do. They decided to make me breakfast. It was so sweet. Dallas knows I love omelets so he put (everything from the fridge in it)lots of love into it. Unfortunately, he's still mastering the cook time on this stove, so it came out more burnt than anything. I also had a side of fruit that I was excited about until Reese came over and said, "I can help you eat your fruit mommy." And she did. 90% of it.
A breakfast from the heart.
Then, we took Daddy to the field and we were supposed to be at the game but Reese crashed right at game time. When she woke up, we headed out and she got to run the field and play with McKenzie. As soon as Daddy was done, we headed to the best part of my day....dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Most moms want a 5 star dinner, I want hot rolls and sweet tea...clearly the way to my heart. We followed dinner with a hilarious family trip to Target and headed home. It was the best Mother's Day ever! Here's Reese and McKenzie before they ran all over the field (and into the stands)...
And in true fashion of a girls playdate, the inevitable kiss. Too bad the Real Housewives of New Jersey don't try this, maybe they'd have better play dates! (or at least until they sit in front of the camera and talk about each other's families)

And now, a quick blog to talk about my two loves. Dallas seriously amazes me as a dad. Amazes me. He adores her. The feeling is mutual. Reese talks about him all day. He takes her to the field for 3 hours and hits with her (she's a switch hitter) runs, gets snacks, she talks to everyone, the just hang out. With that, I have to tell a funny story. Reese will only let certain people be in the bathroom when she poops. (She needs her privacy.) So, usually she makes Dallas wait outside the bathroom door. (which is hilarious) When they were at the field she wanted him in there with her. He said he sat down and started to read the sports page while he waited on her. Her next words were, "Daddy read that to me." Yes, he sat in the bathroom and read the sports page to her. She listened intently.
When they came out one of the other guys said, "Is this what I have to look forward too???"
OMG, she is such a trip.
Another thing, she loves the house we are in (it's an older house)because the tub and the toilet are pink. She was in awe the first few days.
I took this as Dallas was reading to her. She really never goes on her little potty but Dallas brought it out so she had to sit on it...
When she's in the tub, she talks and plays for hours on end. If you listen, you hear "Snow White, you need to head to the baseball field with your friends..."
Wow.
At ChickfilA playing with a little girl the other day she said I am going to be a princess, princess Reese McPherson and my birthday is July 7, I live in Georgia. Now, you can come with me while we look for our prince. She plays make believe all the time now and it is so cute. I am not ready for the weird stage where she becomes a dog, though.
In the car a few weeks ago, I turned up "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." and said "This is my jam!!" After she watched me sing it, (with my hand as my mic) she said, play that jam song again. Now, Her, Dallas and I sing in the car (with our mics) when she asks for the "jam song." Out here, it's Soul Sista by Train. She loves to sing it... Her version is "Hey Sista, Sista..."
That's it. Thank goodness I blog to document her, so I never forget. She's such a blessing. Everyday we've been out here she has told Dallas, "Daddy, you are my prince..."
Melts my heart.
